Project Team (PT)

The Project Team (PT) consists of representatives from the Adult Education Office (AEO) and WestEd. The PT conferences weekly to track the progress of the plan, identify any new issues, resolve questions that may arise, direct the collection of information, select/secure sites for meetings and provide technological access.

Steering Committee (SC)

The Steering Committee (SC) is comprised of practitioners from the field and the PT members. The SC tracks the planning process, conducts, reviews and helps synthesize primary and secondary research. The committee will also provide substantive input to the framework of the plan.

Field Partnership Team (FPT)

The Field Partnership Team (FPT) is comprised of representatives from each of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) regions, the Presidents of adult education professional organizations and the Directors of the Leadership Projects. This standing committee will provide input to the needs assessment and planning process, including regional issues.

Expert Panel

Members of the Expert Panel include strategic thinkers with expertise in policy, organization, measurement, and evaluation; workforce development; literacy, higher education and leadership; K-12 education; postsecondary education, and transition to adult living. The group will provide an overarching strategic analysis of California’s AE system, including AE’s role within the overall system of education and training. The role of the group will be to address broad statewide system-level questions that cross organizational and topic area boundaries, as well as to provide targeted input on governance and funding issues. Members have experience and expertise in key strategy areas: economic and workforce development, K-12 education and high school reform, adult learning, transitions to postsecondary education and employment, cultural and linguistic diversity, English language acquisition, career technical education, special education, technology-assisted learning, criminal and juvenile justice, and education finance.

Invitations to participate on the Stakeholder Panel were sent to relevant agencies / organizations / educational systems that have a vested interest in the educational attainment, workforce skills, issues related to aging, and independent living skills of adults.
