Registration Open for CALPRO Online Professional Development Courses — Fall 2012

Beginning in October, the California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) (www) is offering several facilitated, online courses. Individual, eligible adult educators may now register for:
- Designing Programs for Adults with Learning Disabilities, Session 1: Awareness for Adult Educators (starts 10/11 )
- Effective Lesson Planning (starts 10/15)
- Managing the Multilevel Class (starts 10/11)
Each of these courses lasts approximately four weeks and participants can log in at different times of the week to complete assignments and activities. Enrollment is limited and on a first-registered, first-enrolled basis. To register for these courses, visit the statewide professional development calendar at http://www.caadultedtraining.org.
Postsecondary Transitions is an additional topic of study available this fall. This special series consists of two 4-week courses, the first starting in October, the second beginning in January. The series is open to eligible agency teams by application only. Enrollment is limited and on a first-applied, first-enrolled basis, and applications are due by Sept. 28. The Postsecondary Transitions courses are also asynchronous, meaning that participants may log in at different times to complete the course assignments and contribute to weekly discussions. Eligibility: all adult literacy providers currently working in programs funded though the California Department of Education, Adult Education Office (including, Title II federal funds), are eligible to be enrolled free of charge and earn credit.
